A FEW GOOD QUESTIONS

Before you
make room.

Doesn’t my Mac already do this?

macOS gives you standard window arrangements. Zones lets you make and save your own sizes and combinations, with different layouts for different displays. Think one big document, a narrow reading pane, and a small space for messages.

Will it work with my Mac?

Zones is built for macOS 14 or later on Apple Silicon and Intel Macs. Keep windows out of full screen mode. Some apps have a minimum window size, so they may not fit a very small zone.

Can I use an external monitor?

Yes. You can choose a different layout for each connected display, including your Mac’s built in screen.

Why does it need permission?

macOS requires your permission before Zones can move and resize other apps’ windows. Zones does not record your screen or upload your windows and documents. Read about privacy.

What does saving a layout do?

A layout saves the spaces you can drag windows into. A saved desk remembers selected open windows and their positions, so you can put matching windows back later. It does not reopen closed documents.

Where can I download it?

The public download is being prepared. We’ll add it here when it’s ready. Have a question in the meantime? Email us.
